The inquiring mind of human being has always been looking for new and unique phenomena, and humans have undergone a great deal of suffering pursuing the recognition of unknown lands, and in fact they can be considered as the first tourists. Tourism is not a phenomenon peculiar to this day. It is a phenomenon that has long been considered by human societies, and has continued to advance in time according to different economic, social, historical and other needs. Tourism in today's world is pursued with various goals and objectives such as exchange of information and culture, increasing knowledge and awareness of past societies and spending leisure time, and it is becoming more and more valuable in economic, social and international structures. Domestic and foreign travels and, in parallel, formation of related activities in tourism competitions, will have many economic, political, social and cultural consequences for nations. According to information published by the World Tourism Organization W.T.O, today the tourism industry has become one of the most important economic sectors and, as a capable rival, is on the way to overcome industries such as oil, petrochemical and even automobile industry. Sister City is a covenant and a contract that is usually established between two cities which have some commonality in particular aspects, and hence certain connections are established between them. These connections are essential in identifying the characteristics of each of the cities. After the formation of such a relationship, certain legal steps are taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the highest authorities of the two cities sign the Sister Cities contract. Sister cities take certain actions as signs of friendship, including naming a street or park after their sisters. The reason for choosing such a title for such contracts (sisterhood) is that the word "city" is a female noun. The city of Isfahan is currently considered as one of the most important cities in the world (one of 10 historic cities in the world). Its historical works, including Imam (Naghsh-e Jahan) Square, have been pronounced as amongst the human’s great heritage. The city has now ten Sister cities. The cities of Florence in Italy, St. Petersburg in Russia, Xi’an in China, Lasi in Romania, Yerevan in Armenia, Havana in Cuba, Freiburg in Germany, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Barcelona in Spain and the city of Kuwait are the Sister cities of Isfahan. Proposals have also been made to strengthen such agreements, including establishment of a marketplace called the Market of Nations to showcase the traditions and handicrafts of each of the Sisters, or of the establishment of the Garden of Nations. What can be said about these cities (Sisters) is that most of them have unique and sometimes world-famous historical or artistic works, each of which can be regarded as artistic achievement in its own right, and that these arts and historical works have played significant role in expansion of relations with such cities. In the present article, first historical and artistic features of the city of Isfahan will be briefly discussed, and next the characteristics of the Sisters of Isfahan will be examined.

New cities are newly-built settlements that lack the previous initial core, built on a pre-designed plan and structure, with thousands of years of history in the world.Indeed, it can be argued that the discussion of new cities is as old as urban history, but the idea of creating new cities in its classical and extensive form should be sought in the early twentieth century. The Theory of New Cities is inspired by various theories, and Ebenezer Howard has been recognized as its main theorist.The industrial revolution and its consequences led to the expansion of urbanization and acceleration of urbanization, especially in mother cities, which have faced serious problems through industrial developments and expansion of capitalism in large cities. In developing countries, with increasing population growth, especially urban population, numerous problems have appeared. Disproportionate distribution of population across the countries and mass concentration of population in large cities has led to problems such as housing shortage, marginal settlement, high population density, traffic congestion, air pollution, destruction of agricultural lands around large cities, etc., which call for special measures. One of the measures was to create new cities to reduce major problems and organize the space in those areas. In fact, the goals and strategies of the new cities are often based on demographic decentralization. The urbanization process in our country has also been influenced by the developments and dominance of capitalism and has been steadily increasing over the past decades. The urban area of Isfahan is not isolated from the situation of the urbanization system of the country and has high urbanization coefficients which has led to numerous consequences and problems in the region. In order to reduce these problems, absorption of population overflows of this city and settling the employees of the industrial sector in the region have been reviewed and creation of new cities has been confirmed. Shahr Jadid Baharestan (the New City of Baharestan) is considered as the main basis for this paper, which has been examined and evaluated through different frameworks.

The planning of new cities in the world over the last century has been used in response to changing social and economic conditions and national planning priorities, and each country, in the context of its development, has planned and practiced the construction of new cities, and has used it as a means of addressing urban and regional problems, or as a motivation for economic revitalization of regions that have suffered from economic recession as well as for development of less developed areas.
New cities in Iran have been entered the urban planning system and constructed under various headings over the last three to four decades. Increasing urban population and the need to create new urban centers that can accommodate the extra population is one of the effective factors in construction of such cities. These cities are built to prevent the spread of large cities and metropolitan areas which are faced with numerous problems such as rising rents, high prices of land and housing costs. The experience of building new Iranian cities and their positive and negative points is of special importance. In this paper, we tried to study the status of new cities and their positive and negative points as one of the experiences of urbanization, and it is hoped that its results could be effective.

Among human’s primary needs (food, clothes and shelter), provision of housing is the most difficult. Fulfilment of such needs is very expensive. Even the rich consider house as the greatest family investment. Recently even the most optimistic planners have accepted that the least expensive house with plainest design cannot be afforded by at least a third of urban families in developing countries. One of the plans proposed for solving this problem is development of apartments. This plan, applied in Iran since not-so-distant past, has not yet been utilized in Isfahan. In spite of the city’s former comprehensive plans (with a “horizontal” attitude) which avoids vertical appearance except in limited areas in the city where this approach is not in conflict with the traditional and historical texture of the city, recently in new comprehensive plan and in creating new cities apartment-based plans have been considered and used as a course of action.
In this study, conducted with the aim of recognizing apartment-based residence, six districts with significant apartment residences within the area of implementation of comprehensive plans in Isfahan have been selected and examined using questionnaires. These six study areas have differences in terms of cultural and social textures and geographical positions whose study has revealed interesting facts. It is hoped that this investigation will help solve such residential problems.
The aims of this study include: examination of correct manners of apartment-residence and its development in Isfahan, the connection between type of occupation and apartment residence, apartment lifestyle problems, interest of people in living in apartments, and proposing solutions for related problems.

The tourism industry is a phenomenon that has been considered by human societies from distant past and has continued its march in time according to different economic, social, historical and other needs. This phenomenon, which has been dramatically developed since the Industrial Revolution, especially during the recent centuries, has been a source of important knowledge and technology in international relations and socio-economic development of countries. The tourism industry, which is essentially based on travel, contains comprehensive goals about globe-trotting, pilgrimage, etc. Therefore, its field of activity is greater than other economic activities and its investment costs is much lower than other economic activities, because many ancient discoveries, historical monuments and natural landscapes can, by little investment and proper observance of standards of the tourism industry, turn into valuable tourist attractions. Tourism has two forms: internal (Iran-touring) and international (glob-trotting). Iran-touring is a branch of tourism that is often a synonym for spending leisure time. The economic, social and cultural benefits of this branch of tourism can help employment situation, fair distribution of income, increase in the speed of the flow of money, familiarity and understanding among the peoples living in different parts of the country and consolidation of national unity.
Globe-trotting can also be a profitable activity concerning matters such as earning foreign currency, introducing domestic products to world markets and thus increasing production and expansion of exports. But in general, tourism is on the one hand a means of activity in production, distribution and creation of various services, and on the other hand a platform for understanding and friendship among nations. Today in many countries the tourism industry is an institution of cultural identity and one of the key sources of earning foreign currency. Iran, enjoying a variety of important tourist attractions, can also play a very important role both in terms of economic resources and in introducing itself as an independent culture in today's world. In addition to its unique natural landscapes, the land of Iran has important and valuable historical and religious monuments, both pre-Islamic and post-Islamic, many of which are unique in the world. In order to develop and expand tourism and help economic growth and development, increase national income, earn foreign exchange, raise the level of employment, help and develop Iran-touring in order to provide better facilities on the one hand, and o better and better understand the rich civilization and culture of Iran and Islam overseas on the other, the development and expansion of tourism and Iran tourism is inevitable, and inactivity in this regard will cause huge economic and non-economic damages.
